In 2020, what started as a swipe right on Bumble turned into something much more. Alayna and Michael met on Halloween, and what was supposed to be a casual first date quickly turned into an unexpected easy connection. So easy, in fact, that by the end of the night, Alayna invited Michael to join her at a Halloween party of close friends. Michael took the chance, and the rest, is history.

By December 26th of the same year, Michael decided he didn’t want to waste any more time. He asked Alayna to be his girlfriend—completely overlooking the fact that her birthday was just two days later. (It’s now a running joke.)

Over the next four years, their relationship grew in the simple, everyday moments—Target trips, too many coffee dates, and Michael slowly persuading Alayna to join in on game nights.

In 2024, during a trip to New Orleans, Michael got down on one knee and asked Alayna the big question. She said yes—with one important promise: no more December anniversaries.
